…and we’re back!
Well not we, just me, Lee. (Ooh, apologies for the terrible rhyming.)
My first day back at work and it’s depressing how much that I’ve been looking forward to it. (Nothing demonstrates just how rubbish a social life you have than two and a half weeks off work.)
There was a welcome back party for me at work. Well, there was a “welcome back” banner over my desk and some doughnuts, which I think counts.
This is a new start for me. Am responsible, together young woman who is focused on important and grown up things. My flat is clean for the first time since I moved in. All my clothes are washed and folded\hung up and my washing basket is only half full for the first time in… well in ever actually. (It was like going on a shopping spree, finding all those clothes I forgot I owned. Yay.)
Oh and not only was I not late for work, I got in BEFORE the last possible minute. (Which is another first.)
It feels like I’ve been away from work for so long, and still it took no time at all to slip into a familiar rhythm. Data entry, photocopying, processing requisition form for grappling hook and class 4 detonator, archiving, filing and of course coffee with Stanley. (Oh how I’ve missed him.)
I’m being assigned an actual mission next week, which feels sudden but sudden is good, it’s good, I am focused and ready. Everything’s good.
I really feel like my life is finally on track. Am even helping my sister with her engagement party. (Which is in no way related to the constant complaining that her maid of honour hasn’t thrown one for her yet.)
… and guess who’s got a date for the party?
This girl!!!
Yes indeed this is going to be a fresh new start.
I think I’ll even try cooking something for dinner, without the help of take out menu or even a microwave. Something with more than one food group! (I can feel you all in awe of my culinary ambition.)
And maybe I’ll even go to the gym before work in the morning.
This is going to be great!
