I said I was going to expand on what happened on the mission.
But I’m not… I’m unreliable that way… okay then if you insist. (I know you didn’t but just go with it.)
I can’t be sure of everything that happened outside of the tiny hotel room I was crammed into with Stanley and two other NCFAs. All I know is that it was a combination of things going wrong out there and with us too. (Weirdly though, it wasn’t my fault… well it mostly wasn’t my fault.)
At some point an explosion knocked out the communications (the story behind the explosion is probably way more exciting than this one but hey…Not A Spy!) This caused all sorts of chaos and also caused the two other guys in the room with us to run out shouting that they needed to help. Obviously thinking that this was their time to shine!
It was not.
One of them pretty much immediately got shot in the face and the other ended up hiding and screaming for help. This distracted the main team from what they were doing long enough for chaos to turn into a complete sh*t storm. A bunch of bad guys became aware of our location (and that’s never good) so we had to grab up as much equipment as possible and run for it.
That’s when we were cornered by some not so nice looking fellows, who seemed intent on causing our horrible deaths (perhaps they just need to be loved…maybe not.) We were backed up against a wall with nowhere to go and…
Hey have you ever wondered why I haven’t mentioned Stanley’s power? (I know it’s an infuriating place to interrupt but I promise it’s relevant.) See as far as we were aware he didn’t have one, even though he was right there when the canister opened… in fact he opened it, (hey look something else that’s not my fault.)
…anyway we were backed into a corner by bad men with machine guns which they aimed at Stanley and proceeded to unburden themselves of all those pesky bullets. Stanley recoiled falling backwards and I grabbed his arm falling with him through the wall behind us (yes I said through the wall.)
I didn’t notice what had happened at first I was too busy checking for huge bullet holes in Stanley’s chest. It was only after being unable to find them and looking around that I realised what had happened. Then it was only when he pointed to his foot (still part way in the wall) and said “I’m not sure that’s right.” that I realised how it had happened.
So myep. Stanley can walk (or fall) through walls….
I am so happy he’s okay; I think I’d have lost it if he had gotten hurt. That being said…
His power’s better than mine!!!
