George arrived home without Michael. He said that they split up while being chased and he should be back soon. (He always had a 4 o’clock shadow; I think he shaved at night to make sure it was rugged enough in the morning.)
Then I took a call in from Michael. He was frantic saying that they’d been taken and that George had been released but only after a little alone time with Eli. Michael had barely escaped. (His Scottish accent was terrible.)
I raised the alarm and we found George on the security feed planting explosives around the building. (He told me I looked pretty every day. Liar.)
Evacuation is the protocol along with a specialist team to remove all the devices.
They got most of them.
Katie ran after George but he was still under Eli’s influence. He tried to shoot Stanley who was attempting to disarm a device he had found. Katie shot George in the shoulder but he wouldn’t go down. She had to keep shooting till he fell. (He liked to sing country music at the girls in the office when he was in a good mood.)
Stanley told me Katie just stood there her hands shaking, gun still trained on George. That’s when the missed explosives went off. Stanley had to pull Katie out of the building as parts of it came down around them. The place is pretty destroyed but no structural damage. (His smile was devastating, somehow both mischievous and sincere.)
That was Monday.
If this all seems a bit dry, I would apologise but honestly I don’t care.
(He has a younger brother in the Army and worried about him constantly.)
